The Humber Industrial Cluster Plan hosted their Hydrogen Network on the 9th June 2021.
The second Humber Industrial Cluster Plan network took place on Wednesday 9th June, hosted by David Talbot, CATCH CEO. Over 50 delegates dialled into the online network group, to listen to speakers Suzanne Knights and Molly Iliffe from ERM and Tanguy Cosmao, Equinor.
David welcomed the delegates, and then introduced Suzanne and Molly who spoke about options for transporting and storing green hydrogen in the form of a liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC). They then covered recent research undertaken to determine the most economically advantageous solution for transporting hydrogen at bulk scale, and across the value chain. Plus suitability options from data collection to technical readiness and availability. They also covered the development of a energy model, key business drivers, and key learnings from cost modeling.
After a short comfort break, Tanguy Cosmao, Equinor, presented the H2H Saltend project, firstly providing valuable background information and context of the project including explaining the partnership working - enabling a full value chain, from demonstration and scale up to 100% hydrogen conversion. He then discussed the H2H Saltend project and the global market for low carbon ammonia.
Katie Hedges, Director of Low Carbon strategy at CATCH, gave an update on the Humber Industrial Cluster Plan, and invited feedback and suggested topics for future sessions.
